Retrospective - 6 months old

I have been SO BUSY recently and haven't
taken any photos of my precious princess for ages.

With that in mind I thought a little retrospective was in order ...

When Lyla was 6 months old, we had some professional photos taken.

This is our favourite photo.
It hangs proudly above our bed - POSTER sized!

Look at Dadda's glow ... and Lyla's tiny little feet!

And a rare photo of Mother and Daughter.
It's tough when you're always the one behind the camera!

Flowers for You

Lyla now spends most of her waking hours in our little back yard.
The other day she came back in to the house and presented me with two flowers that she had picked all by herself.

Aww .... TOO CUTE!

Nectarine Post Modernism

Lyla has been somewhat picky with her food recently,
but I unexpectedly came accross a winner the today.

Well
of course! Nectarines are my favourite fruit, so it should come as no surprise that my daughter is addicted to them too!

Look at that JUICY belly!

Being a first time Mum there are obviously many things that you only learn through experience ...

Like not expecting an 11 month old with free will and mobility to sit still
on a bath towel whilst covered in nectarine.

Thank you for your beautiful nectarine artwork
all over our glass doors Lyla Sofia!

Love At First Sight

Diesel's patience with his "baby sister" continues to amaze us.
He and Lyla actually have quite a special relationship.
No surprise really, considering he literally watched her - through the loungeroom window -
being born.

This was their first official meeting, the day Lyla came home
from the hospital - 3 days old.
I'm not sure that it was exactly love at first sight . . . but as you can see . . .

. . . it seems to be love now :)

Stylin'

Nanna Jenny couldn't help herself in the sales this week.
In fact a text message came through to "Tell Lyla I've just spent her entire inheritance in DJ's".

This is the most divine little skirt from Pumpkin Patch.

A size 2 can you believe - 'go' those adjustable waist bands!

And just incase you were wondering ... as I'm ABSOLUTELY certain you were ...

YES! They are Lyla's very own first pair of ORIGINAL Dunlop Volleys :)
(Bought by Mamma)

Funny Face

Each day, Lyla seems to come up with a beautiful new face
for Mumma and Dadda to marvel over!

This was today's precious moment.
We'll be sure to keep you posted as she discovers new ways
to manouver those facial features!

Happy New Year

Lyla went to her first New Year's Eve party last week.
She was very excited and stayed up until 7.30!

Unfortunately the first fireworks started an hour and a half later,
but we took some photos for her - and for Felix in Paris.

They were pretty spectacular.
Very bright and BIG and noisy.

The most excited person in the room was Cousin Paige.
It was the first time she had ever seen fireworks.
It was definitely worth staying up past her bedtime.

Back Home

When Lyla got back to Bondi, she realised there were still quite a few presents she hadn't opened yet.

Including this fabulous train from Granma & Grampa.

Thanks guys - it's great fun!

My Cousin Paige

This year Lyla's cousin Paige visited for Christmas.

Lyla dressed up in her new big-girl outfit and showed Paige how she could climb stairs.

Then Paige (reluctantly) showed Lyla her Fifi Flower Tots Town.
Somehow those little fingers seemed to be all over Paige's new special toys

But she managed to stay very patient with her baby cousin ...

And remain calm (most of the time)!

Thanks for sharing all your toys Paige.

Christmas Afternoon

It was such a beautiful afternoon ...

... so Grampa took the opportunity to show everyone his brand new jetty.

Meanwhile ... Lyla tried to call Felix in Paris on her new mobile phone, but not even Dadda could get a connection?

The Hayes family Christmas photo :)

Christmas At The Lake

"Do I have to wear this silly hat just because it's my first Christmas?"
"I'd much prefer to help everyone open their presents. Here you go Grampa."

"And this one's for Mum."

"Hey this one's for me! Thanks Paige!"

"Everyone's given me so many wonderful presents!"

What a great day!
